Align Technology, the company that makes Invisalign, has even called Dr. Ibrahim a “trailblazer.” She’s an Invisalign Brand Ambassador and has been asked to participate in several Invisalign clinical trials, pilot programs and advisory boards. There aren’t many Invisalign providers in the country, or even the world, that can match this degree of Invisalign experience.

Still not exactly sure what the different Invisalign provider designations like Preferred or Diamond+ actually mean? To help give you some clarity on the designations, as well as the treatment itself, in this post, we’re answering:

  • How does the Invisalign provider ranking system work?
  • What does being an Invisalign Diamond+ Top 1% Provider mean?
  • Why should you choose a Diamond+ Top 1% Invisalign Provider for treatment?
  • What does the Invisalign process entail at Innovative Orthodontic Centers?
  • Which orthodontic issues can an experienced provider treat with Invisalign?
  • How long does Invisalign take?
  • How much does Invisalign cost?

How Does the Invisalign Provider Ranking System Work?

In order to highlight reputable, experienced Invisalign providers and help patients feel confident when choosing a doctor, the makers of Invisalign created a system of standards. This Invisalign provider ranking system has different tiers based on the number of patients an orthodontist or practice treats with Invisalign each year, as well as overall. To receive a provider designation like Preferred or Diamond+, an orthodontist has to be evaluated before being placed into a category by Invisalign.

It stands to reason that the more patients an orthodontist successfully treats with Invisalign, the more experienced and proficient they become with the product. The Invisalign Diamond+ Top 1% designation is the highest designation and indicates the highest level of experience.

What Does Being an Invisalign Diamond+ Top 1% Provider Mean?

To be recognized as an Invisalign Diamond+ Top 1% Provider, an orthodontist or practice must treat a minimum of 400 patients each year with Invisalign, which ensures a deep knowledge of the clear aligner system. Even more importantly, the orthodontist has to have successfully treated at least 800 patients with Invisalign overall. Dr. Ibrahim, Dr. Gin and our team continually meet the yearly guidelines and have treated over 3,000 patients and counting, exceeding the standards.

Why Should You Choose an Invisalign
Diamond+ Top 1% Provider for Treatment?

The Invisalign name is the most well known and trusted when it comes to clear aligner treatment. With Invisalign, Invisalign Teen, Invisalign First and Invisalign with Mandibular Advancement (MA), as well auxiliaries like SmartForce® attachments, Invisalign for kids, teens and adults is now a viable option, even for complex cases. The SmartTrack® aligner material is superior to that of other aligners and the ClinCheck® software is excellent, because it allows us to precisely plan your treatment in three dimensions.

Yet, still, at the end of the day, Invisalign prints, packages and ships your aligners, while your orthodontist is the one who creates your Invisalign treatment plan and programs the aligners to achieve the desired tooth movements. Invisalign prints the aligners based on their specifications. This means, experience matters and an Invisalign Diamond+ Top 1% Provider designation indicates the highest possible level of experience.

Not all orthodontists feel comfortable treating patients with severe malocclusion (improper bite) using Invisalign and some reserve it only for mild or moderate cases. At Innovative Orthodontic Centers, as an Invisalign Diamond+ Top 1% Provider, any case that can be treated with braces, can be treated with Invisalign. We have the experience, product proficiency and comfort level to address mild, moderate, severe and multi-disciplinary cases with Invisalign.

Additionally, all types of orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign, can create permanent changes in your dental and facial anatomy. Treatment goes beyond helping patients get straight teeth and must also address the way the upper and lower arch fit together in order to create a healthy, aligned, functional bite. Opting for an American board-certified orthodontist and Diamond+ Invisalign Provider like Dr. Manal Ibrahim or Dr. Christine Gin will ensure you get the best results that complement your unique facial features and promote optimal oral health, regardless of your case.

We’re proud to be recognized as a Diamond+ Top 1% Invisalign provider with over 3,000 successful Invisalign cases under our belt. And, it gives patients peace of mind knowing they’re receiving care from providers with unmatched expertise.

What Does the Invisalign Process Entail at
Innovative Orthodontic Centers?

When you choose a Diamond+ Invisalign provider at Innovative Orthodontic Centers for your treatment, here’s what you can expect:

• Start With a Complimentary Consultation
You’ll visit Innovative Orthodontic Centers for a free Invisalign consultation to kick off the process. A team member will take complimentary 3D x-rays, digital scans, and photos of your teeth and face. Dr. Ibrahim or Dr. Gin will perform an exam and use their findings, as well as the diagnostic records, to develop an accurate diagnosis.

You’ll chat with the doctor about your goals for treatment and what you can expect, including how long Invisalign will take. They’ll answer any questions you have and with our iTero® scanner, even show you what your new smile will look like using the Invisalign Outcome Simulator. We’ll also go over the Invisalign cost, your insurance and our financing options. If you decide to move forward, we can start treatment on the same day as your consultation, so you don’t have to make another trip to the office.

• Create a Digital, 3D Image of Your Mouth with our iTero Scanner
Aside from the amazing Invisalign Outcome Simulator, we also utilize the iTero scanner to capture high-definition images of your teeth and gums. As an impression-free office, we use the digital dental scanner instead of traditional, messy putty and tray impressions. A team member takes the 3D dental scans with a handheld wand. The process is quick, comfortable and convenient.

The images are input into a computer program and a virtual, 3D model of your mouth is created. Dr. Ibrahim or Dr. Gin creates your Invisalign treatment plan directly on the model. They can move each individual tooth into its ideal position and visualize different outcomes or troubleshoot before you even start a day of treatment. This ensures maximum precision and a smile that’s designed just for your facial features.

• Pick Up Your Custom Invisalign Aligners
Invisalign will print a series of custom-molded, clear, BPA-free plastic aligners based on Dr. Ibrahim or Dr. Gin’s prescription. You’ll swing by the office and pick up your Invisalign aligners when they’re ready and wear them for 20 to 22 hours per day, taking them out to eat, drink, and brush and floss your teeth.

• Change Your Aligners According to Schedule
The schedule for popping in a new set of Invisalign aligners varies depending on your treatment plan. Most patients move to their next tray after a week of wear. Since each set is pre-programmed to achieve certain tooth movements, as you make your way through the series, your smile changes right before your eyes. Invisalign aligners don’t require adjustments, but you’ll visit every so often so that we can ensure your treatment is on track. We use Dental Monitoring®, the latest orthodontic artificial intelligence, to monitor patients on a weekly basis from the comfort of their homes. These virtual check-ins allow you to go longer between in-person appointments, saving you time.

• Reveal Your New Smile and Receive a Custom Invisalign Retainer
When you remove your last set of aligners, you’ll have a fantastic smile to show for it. However, there’s one last step in your treatment plan and that’s wearing a retainer (or retainers) to ensure your results last a lifetime. We’ll fit you for a custom Invisalign retainer, called a Vivera® retainer, to hold your teeth in their new positions. The clear retainer looks and feels like your Invisalign aligners but is thick and durable enough to last for years.

What Can Invisalign Treat?

As we said, some orthodontists reserve Invisalign for mild cases and usually for adults and older teenagers. As an Invisalign Diamond+ Top 1% Provider, we have the experience level necessary to address a much wider range of orthodontic issues with clear aligners, including those that are complex, in patients of all ages. In fact, if the problem can be treated with braces at our practice, we can also treat it with Invisalign aligners. We’re one of the few practices to offer Invisalign First, which is Invisalign for phase 1 orthodontic treatment, and Invisalign with MA.

Invisalign First is Invisalign for young patients who are still growing. We can use it to intercept issues while a patient is developing in order to guide jaw growth and prevent an emerging issue from becoming a full-blown problem later in life. This can help patients avoid the need for jaw surgery or extractions down the road.

Invisalign for MA is Invisalign for overbite correction. The aligners have wings that advance the lower jaw forward so that the jaw shifts incrementally into its proper place and the overbite disappears. These specialized aligners align and level the teeth while simultaneously working on orthopedic correction. If you look at Invisalign for an overbite before and after photos, you’ll be surprised at just how effective clear aligners can be for the issue when treatment is planned by an experienced orthodontist.

Invisalign and Invisalign Teen can also be used for other types of malocclusion, including spacing, crowding, a crossbite, underbite or open bite. While early intervention can make treatment of skeletal issues like an underbite more effective, we are known for treating adult patients with bite problems without corrective jaw surgery using Invisalign.

How Long Does Invisalign Take?

A common question we get from our patients is, how long does Invisalign take? The length of your Invisalign treatment will depend on the issue we’re treating and the complexity of your case. For a minor problem like mild spacing or for a touch-up after past orthodontic treatment, your Invisalign treatment may only last as little as six months.

In fact, we’re a Sensational Smiles provider. Sensational Smiles allows you to straighten your teeth in half the time and for 60% less than the cost of traditional treatment. An Invisalign Diamond+ Top 1% Provider will plan out your treatment, but you’ll be able to make your way through your Invisalign aligners on your own. You get the convenience of at-home aligners without the risk and without cutting corners.

For comprehensive Invisalign treatment, or if your case is more complex, treatment could last a year or more. The good news is, we’re also leaders in accelerated Invisalign treatment. We pair your Invisalign aligners with a handheld, take-home medical device, such as AcceleDent® or VPro+™. You’ll use the device for a few minutes per day and it will generate gentle vibrations that improve predictability and aligner seating (how the aligners fit against the teeth) for the best possible results, while reducing discomfort as well. The device is also a safe, proven way to speed up the natural process of bone remodeling, reducing Invisalign treatment time by as much as 50%!

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

The cost of Invisalign depends on a number of factors, including how complex your case is. You can get an estimate of your Invisalign cost using our payment calculator. This will give you a general idea of the price. At your consultation, however, we’ll be able to provide you with your exact Invisalign cost and we’ll outline your fees with complete transparency. If you have insurance that covers Invisalign, this can greatly reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. We accept most insurance and will work with you to determine your coverage. In addition to your insurance, you can also use your HSA or FSA for Invisalign for further savings.

We’ll sit down with you to decide on a payment plan that suits your budget. We offer a paid-in-full discount. Or, if you’d prefer to break up the cost of your Invisalign treatment into monthly payments, we accept Lending Point and Care Credit and have in-office financing plans too.
