How Does the Invisalign Palatal Expander System Work?
Our board-certified orthodontists and Diamond+ Top 1% Invisalign Providers can now correct a narrow maxilla (upper jaw, dental arch, palate) with Invisalign Palatal Expanders. Dr. Manal Ibrahim and Dr. Christine Gin use digital treatment planning to design custom expanders on a 3D model of the patient’s mouth.
The removable, BPA-free plastic devices are then 3D printed in a series staged in small increments of movement. The child simply changes the expander daily and with each new device, the maxilla expands bit by bit (no turning or screw needed!). When it’s time for Phase 2 in the teen years, treatment will be faster, easier and more effective.
